Evaluating Impact: Ecorys Leads Mid-Term Assessment of EU’s Nexus Response Mechanism in Myanmar

We are thrilled to announce Ecorys’ latest venture, spearheading the mid-term evaluation of the Nexus Response Mechanism (NRM) in Myanmar. This project underscores our dedication to assessing and advancing the outcomes of humanitarian, development, and peace interventions in collaboration with the European Union.

The NRM, conceived as a pilot initiative by the EU, has witnessed significant expansion since its initiation in 2019. Managed by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the program was intended to become a key player in the humanitarian-development-peace nexus. Governed by a Steering Committee and implemented in collaboration with various partners, including civil society organizations, NGOs, UN agencies, and service providers, the NRM was designed based on collaborative and integrated approaches.

This mid-term evaluation is a pivotal step in providing an independent assessment of the NRM’s performance in Myanmar. Our focus extends beyond performance metrics; we aim to extract valuable lessons, draw insightful conclusions, and propose actionable recommendations for the enhancement of current and future NEXUS interventions in the region.

Key stakeholders, including EU Services such as the EU Delegation to Myanmar, INTPA, and ECHO, alongside UNOPS Myanmar, are set to benefit from the insights generated by this evaluation. More than just an assessment, this project represents an opportunity to inform strategic decisions, enhance coordination, and foster a more resilient humanitarian-development-peace nexus in Myanmar.

Ecorys is proud to lead this transformative project, leveraging our expertise to contribute meaningfully to positive change. Stay tuned for updates as we navigate the intricacies of the evaluation process, working towards a more interconnected and effective approach in Myanmar.
