Closure of two Technical Assistances in Egypt
Our project manager Cristina Gogonetu represented Ecorys on 4 December in Egypt for the closing event of 2 technical assistance contracts implemented together with our consortium lead partner Sofreco.
The two programmes, Strengthening TVET Leading Authorities & the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) and Supporting the Reform of the TVET Governance System, had a five years duration.
The objective of the programme “Supporting the Reform of the TVET Governance System in Egypt” was to improve and enhance the structure and performance of the TVET system and TVET delivery in Egypt to better respond to the new socio-economic needs, in particular, youth employability and increased competitiveness in the current and future development.
The programme “Strengthening TVET Leading Authorities & the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE)” aim was to improve and enhance the structure and performance of the TVET system and TVET delivery in Egypt to better respond to the new socio-economic needs, in particular, youth employability and increased competitiveness in the context of the country’s current and future development.
Ecorys, as part of the Sofreco consortium, has contributed to the implementation of the two programmes by contracting Key and Non-Key Experts and providing technical assistance throughout the five years of the implementation.
The event was attended by more than 200 persons, including the representatives from the EU Delegation HE Amb. Christian Berger (Head of European Union Delegation to Egypt), HE Dr Rania Al Mashat (Minister of International Cooperation), as well as diplomats from different Ministries, such as Trade and Industry, Tourism and Antiquities, Education and Technical Education and Planning and Economic Development. An overview of the TVET programme achievements was presented by Mr Maged Barakat – Executive Director of the programme.
