Ecorys will evaluate inclusive education support in Serbia

Inclusive education is a fundamental right, ensuring all children, regardless of background or ability, have access to quality education. Serbia has made significant efforts to reform its education system to be more inclusive and equitable, with strong support from the European Union through funding and technical assistance. Ecorys is proud to announce that we have been awarded the project to evaluate these inclusive education interventions, assessing their effectiveness and providing insights to enhance educational opportunities for all children in Serbia.

Serbia’s education reforms aim to create a quality, equitable, and efficient system, guided by the Strategy for Education Development until 2030 and its Action Plan. The EU has supported these efforts through initiatives like the Inclusive Education project, which focuses on improving education for all children, especially those from vulnerable groups such as children with disabilities and Roma children.

The “Evaluation of the Support to Inclusive Education in Serbia” project, funded by the EU, aims to independently assess the achievements, quality, and impact of these interventions. It will identify key lessons and provide recommendations to enhance future initiatives.

This evaluation is crucial as it ensures objectivity, generates evidence-based recommendations, and holds stakeholders accountable for effective resource use. It also highlights best practices, fostering continuous improvement in inclusive education. Involving education professionals, communities, and policymakers, the process encourages collaboration and shared responsibility.

While Serbia has made significant progress towards a more inclusive education system, continued efforts and investment are needed. Ecorys remains committed to supporting these initiatives and working with stakeholders to achieve the goal of inclusive education for all.
