Podcast on Circular Economy
The Netherlands wants to have a fully circular economy by 2050. This means an economy with as little waste as possible in which materials and raw materials are (re)used for as long as possible. As an interim goal, the Netherlands already wants to use 50% fewer primary raw materials by 2030.
Progress is being made, although the Netherlands still has a long way to go. But what challenges do we face when it comes to the transition to a circular economy? And what is the interface between practice and policy? This is what our colleagues find out in a new podcast on Circular Economy. In this podcast, they talk to experts about their practical experience, and explore how policy can accelerate the transition.
In episode one, (Circular) Healthcare takes centre stage and they discuss the topic of sustainability in healthcare with physician-researcher Egid van Bree and professor of sustainable procurement Erik van Raaij. What role does sustainability play in hospitals’ procurement policies? Can this be more sustainable or should risk prevention remain paramount? And what do we do about the health consequences of climate change itself?
