Ecorys assists the EU with strengthening the Results Based Budgeting for the Provision of Social Services in Peru

Ecorys, in partnership with Mancala Consultores, assists the European Union Delegation to Peru with a program to strengthen the Results Based Budgeting (RBB) strategy.

The main objective of this program is to support the General Directorate of Public Budget (DGPP) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) to strengthen the Results Based Budgeting (RBB) strategy and the allocation of public resources based on performance, in the terms and scope established by DL 1440 Public Budget System Law to achieve the results expected by the target population with the provision of social services.

The specific objectives of the program aligned with the main objective are additionally the following: 

• To strengthen the capacities of the General Directorate of Public Budget to prepare a plan to reform the RBB strategy in the medium term, together with sufficient institutional arrangements to manage its implementation, monitor its progress and report its results to all the stakeholders involved, including international cooperation.
• To develop technical assistance actions to strengthen the instruments of the RBB strategy in a comprehensive and integrated manner, in line with the recently approved regulatory framework and the demands identified by the DGPP.
• To prioritize priority efforts to reform the RBB strategy that are aimed at improving their performance in relation to the expected results on the target population with the provision of social services.
