Two Ecorys-supported projects nominated for the European Ombudsman Award for Good Administration
The European Ombudsman has nominated two projects supported by Ecorys for its 2026 Award for Good Administration. The nominations of these projects for this prestigious EU award reflect the work Ecorys does to have a positive impact on society and the lives of European citizens.
O nagradi
The European Ombudsman Award for Good Administration recognises projects that have “a visible and direct positive impact on the lives of people in Europe and beyond”. The winner is decided by a public vote.
This year, two projects supported by Ecorys have been nominated for the Award: the Samo prijelazna platforma, an initiative of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy, and the Europski klimatski pakt, an initiative of the Directorate-General for Climate Action.
Recognising diverse and inclusive green transitions for EU regions
The Just Transition Platform supports regions across Europe as they move away from fossil fuels and carbon-intensive industries towards a climate‑neutral economy.
The Platform provides support to regions and stakeholders across Europe to ensure that this transition is ‘just’ – meaning fair and socially inclusive, ensuring no person or region is left behind – and has been nominated by the Award for its izvrsnost u raznolikost i inkluzija in EU regions in transition.
Since 2021, Ecorys has been involved in managing the Platform’s Secretariat and delivering various support services, ranging from project and knowledge management to event organisation, stakeholder engagement and communication activities.
Celebrating citizen‑led climate action through community
The European Climate Pact brings people, communities and organisations together to take action to fight and respond to the impacts of climate change.
The Pact works to build a Europe‑wide community of Climate Pact Ambassadors and Partners and empower citizens to turn climate ambition into everyday action to build a more sustainable future. With this nomination, the European Ombudsman recognises that the Pact has driven excellence in citizen/civil society participation.
Ecorys has been involved in running the Pact’s Secretariat since 2023. This support involves activities such as expanding and managing a Europe‑wide community of Ambassadors and Partners, running events and communication activities, sharing climate-related knowledge, and empowering citizens to turn climate ambition into everyday action for a more sustainable future.
Have your say! Public vote now open
If you have experienced or admired the good work of these two initiatives, you can offer your support by voting for either project to win the Award.
Public voting is open until Monday, 15 June 2026 at 23:59 CEST, with the winners to be announced at an award ceremony on 30 June 2026.
