Monitoring and Evaluation of Connecting Classrooms Programme

Client: British Council | Sectors: Social Policy

Ecorys UK has been commissioned to implement a monitoring and evaluation strategy for the Connecting Classrooms programme, the British Council's flagship international education programme.

The Connecting Classrooms programme, which runs from 2015-2018, aims to build the capacity of 45,000 teachers and 12,000 school leaders worldwide to support them to integrate a range of core skills into the curriculum. We are working to develop and implement an effective system to clearly demonstrate Connecting Classroom’s impact in accordance with the programme’s outcome and output targets.

Ecorys UK are currently working to review the proposed Connecting Classrooms logframe, tools and approach to data collection to ensure these are logical and coherent. We provide ongoing support and guidance to the British Council to ensure quality, consistency and robustness of the approach taken to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) within the programme.

We are conducting quarterly analysis and quality assurance of quantitative and qualitative data provided from British Council’s internal database/monitoring systems. This analysis will be summarised into reports to the British Council for both internal and external dissemination.

Ecorys UK will also produce annual outcome evaluation reports for each year of the programme, which will evaluate the success and impact of the programme, and make recommendations for programme improvements, including ongoing improvements to M&E systems and processes.
