New Skills for New Jobs – Training Personnel under Shifting Technological Paradigms
| Social Policy, Economic GrowthOn May 24, 2018 the International Conference “New Skills for New Jobs – Training Personnel under Shifting Technological Paradigms” took place in Minsk. The conference was organised in the frame of the EU funded project “Employment, Vocational Education and Training in Belarus”, implemented by GFA Consulting Group and Ecorys.
The conference introduced the participants to the challenges that an innovative World of Work presents to society, policy-makers and educationalists on the ground in Belarus and the European Union. The conference sensitised its participants to innovative international and Belarusian responses appropriate to ensure a VET system produces those new skills necessary for meeting new job performances standards driven by fast technological developments. Moreover, the participants discussed approaches to enhance the attractiveness of vocational occupations and ensure the availability of skilled labour in the regions of Belarus.
Speakers of the conference included representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Belarus, the Government of the Republic of Belarus, scientific institutes, international organizations and recognized experts in the field of vocational education and training.
