Ecorys Polska evaluates the international assistance programming in Ukraine for the Government of Canada

| Economic Growth

Ecorys has been contracted by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) to conduct the evaluation of international assistance programming in Ukraine from 2009-2010 to 2016-2017 aimed at improving the relevance, effectiveness, sustainability and efficiency of the program. The Government of Canada represents the third biggest bilateral donor for Ukraine and has been increasing its support in the light of the crisis in Eastern Ukraine.

The purpose of the evaluation is to provide credible, timely and neutral information, aimed to support Canadian Ministers, Deputy Heads and development partners’ evidence-based decision making on policy, expenditure management and program improvements; and support government accountability to Parliament, Canadians and partners for results achieved with resources, invested in this programming.

Under the project, Ecorys will examine the results achieved by DFATD’s international assistance in Ukraine from 2009-2010 to 2016-2017, assess the findings, identify good practices, lessons learnt and the areas for improvement, as well as formulate the recommendations for further DFATD’s assistance in Ukraine.

The evaluation covers the entire territory of Ukraine. The activities under the project will be completed in April 2019.
