Ghana Tax and Development Programme

Ecorys are implementing a major two-year project to support DANIDA and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in the implementation of the Ghana Tax and Development programme.

The programme aims to support the GRA in the implementation of its Second Strategic Plan, and focuses on managing a £8m budget to provide technical advice, capacity building and equipment to 25 GRA owned projects across all areas of customs and tax reform, and trade facilitation.

The project successfully:

•    Harmonised Customs processes and procedures with the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and Revised Kyoto Convention.

•    Helped establish integrated border management teams.

•    Undertook extensive capacity building of GRA officers, including focused training in intelligence, investigation and risk management.

•    Provided hands-on support to special audits and post clearance audits.
