Our CSR-activities and our wider sustainable impact in 2019|
At Ecorys, we are committed to making our world more sustainable. We are proud to say we are a CO2 neutral company. In 2019, we reduced our CO2 footprint per fte, compensated all of our air and car travel, and reduced the number of prints per fte, as well as offsetting the remainder of our CO2 footprint. This is all part of our long-standing CSR policy, which we would like to share with you:
In our way of working, we contribute to making the world more sustainable in two ways: through the way we work (internal) and through the work we do (external).
Internally, we contribute by improving, maintaining and/or mitigating our company’s impact on the environment. In 2019, aside from reducing our CO2 footprint, compensating air and car travel and offsetting the remainder of our CO2 footprint, we extended our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates. Also, by making laptops available to our consultants, we have been able to greatly reduce our number of prints per fte.
Externally, we support our customers in making a more positive impact on the environment and society, to help them answer tomorrow’s challenges today. Our type of work, addressing public-policy questions on the important global challenges we face, also has a much wider impact. That this is an important part of our work is evident from the large collection of projects that are included in our annual CSR report.
However, we are still not there yet. Marien van Riessen, Managing Director of Ecrys Nederlands: “we remain committed to working on an ever-greater social impact, for ourselves and our customers. In 2020, we will focus on reducing and separating our waste, allowing people to be more mobile in different ways, getting people fit, both mentally and physically, and shaping our support to good causes. We are committed to the continuous improvement of our environmental performance. In addition, we are even more committed to helping our customers and making a bigger impact.”
