Markets, competition & regulation

Economic Policy

‘A strong market and a strong government’ is one of the leading principles of contemporary public policy. The EU and its Member States attach value to allocation through markets and equally to the delivery of services of general interest. Experience shows that liberalisation and deregulation does not automatically lead to the desired results. A cautious balancing act is often required in opening up markets, certainly in sector specific regulation.

Ecorys supports international organisations, ministries, regulators, as well as private organisations, with economic analysis of markets focussed on competition and regulation issues. We help determine the factors that contribute to effective competition or pose barriers to the development of effective competition. We combine our own extensive experience within the team with the expertise of associated experts to deliver value added to our clients.
