Ecorys has presented the results of the study ‘EU-US High Level Working Group’ at a large EU-US seminar in Brussels on April 4, 2013. The report was used as starting point for discussions on the Trans-Atlantic Trade & Investment Partnership (TTIP).
The report describes the economic effects for the Netherlands (and the European Union) of liberalisation of trade and investment flows between the EU and US. As a result, the study serves as an excellent starting point for estimating the gains for the Netherlands (and the EU) of successfully concluding a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). For three selected top sectors (Agrofood & horticulture, High tech systems and materials and Chemicals) the main barriers were identified and prioritised. On the basis of this work, recommendations were formulated for the Dutch input into the EU-US High-Level working Group (HLWG).
