26 October 2007 - The First Meeting of the General Assembly of the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) took place on 25 October 2007 in Skopje, Macedonia. The EU Ambassador to Macedonia, Mr Erwan Fouéré handed over certificates to young management development trainers. The meeting was attended by founders of the HRDF, as well as state officials from the Ministry of Economy and its Agency for Entrepreneurship Promotion.

The HRDF was established as a Public Private Partnership in June 2006 as a result of a project funded by the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) and implemented by a consortium led by ECORYS. The HRDF has already become a focal point in Macedonia for supporting the implementation of a modern and effective management development and is developing as an important player in the networking and enterprise learning activities. Its role is to guarantee the supply of high quality training, learning and business development services available to local enterprises, through continuous upgrading of skills and expertise of local trainers and development of new learning products to reflect the needs of the enterprises.

One of the major activities of the HRDF during 2007 was the organisation of the Academy for Young Trainers. Within this Academy, ten young trainers were sucessfully prepared to enter into the local trainers and consultants community. The Academy included 20 intensive courses that were given by international and national experts. The goal of the Academy is to increase the quantity and the quality of training and learning professionals in the country, in particularly in the regions, including among women and minorities. It is the intention of the Fund to issue the Academy of Young Trainers once a year.
