26 November 2009 - The Bulgaria Economic Forum (BEF) will take place on 26 and 27 November 2009 in Sheraton Hotel, Sofia, Bulgaria. The title of the event is Bulgaria 2009-2013 – Economic Visions for European Development. The forum is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism in cooperation with Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works. The Forum will be officially opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Dyankov, Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traikov, Minister of Environment and Water Nona Karadzhova and Head of the Representation of the EC to Bulgaria Zinaida Zlatanova have also confirmed their participation. Several months after the parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, BEF will organize that big event to meet the new Bulgarian government, leading international companies and investors, Bulgarian business, local administration and media. The idea of the event is to present the plans and measures in the different sectors of the economy, envisaged in the economic program of the government, to discuss the trends in the economic development of the country, to analyze the 3 years of Bulgarian EU membership. During the forum representatives of the business and municipalities will have the opportunity to meet the new members of the cabinet and to make new business-contacts. Among the main topics for discussion during the forum are: Finance and Eurofunds; Telecommunications; Energy; Infrastructure; Environment. The Fifth International Eco-business Forum will take place within the frameworks of BEF as a separate thematic stream. This year it will focus on waste management. The aim of the event is to present the challenges and opportunities for the business, municipalities and central authority in meeting the European criteria in that field.
