ECORYS launches Joint Support Office for enhancing Ukraine's integration in EU research area |

28 december 2009 - ECORYS has won a big EU-funded project in Ukraine ‘Joint Support Office for enhancing Ukraine’s integration in EU research area’ (JSO-Research Project). The project budget is € 3.494 million, the project will run for 29 months starting from August 2009. The Joint Support Office was recently launched.
The project has four purposes and respective components: - To raise public awareness on the EU research and development activities and technological areas, in particular the 7th Framework Programme (FP7) funded by the EU.
- To increase the opportunities and participation of the Ukrainian research and business communities for integration into the European networks that support innovation and commercialisation of research and development output.
- To ensure capacity building and institutional strengthening of the Ministry of Education and Science, and the National Information Point for EU-Ukraine scientific and technology cooperation.
- To encourage the participation of the Ukrainian R&D institutions and SMEs in the EU programmes in the field of innovation and technology transfer and to support the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to prepare the ground for future accession of Ukraine to the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP).
The international project team consists of experts from the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, UK, Austria, Belgium, Greece and Ukraine.
