ECORYS evaluates European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) PDF Print E-mail

17 November 2008 - The ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) has undergone its first external evaluation, as required in the Centre’s Founding Regulation (EC 851/2004). This process started in September 2007 when ECORYS was contracted to conduct the evaluation.

The main purpose of this evaluation has been to assess ECDC’s achievements as compared to the Centre’s objectives and programme of work, to identify possible shortcomings and possible improvements, and to assess the possible extension of mandate. The final report on the external evaluation was approved in September 2008, and its results will feed into the ECDC Management Board’s recommendations to the European Commission on future structure, working practices and mission scope of Centre.
