| ECORYS wins large transport project in India |
|
11 August 2009 - ECORYS has won the World Bank project “Consultancy Services for Carrying out Integrated Transport Policy and Strategy, and Strategic Investment Plans Study for Punjab” in India.
ECORYS will manage a large team of international and Indian consultants, who will prepare an Integrated Transport Policy and Strategy Document, as well as Strategic Investment Plans for Punjab. The project team will assist the Government of Punjab and other relevant stakeholders, through a consultative process based on transport demand analysis of the sub-sectors and assessments of infrastructure shortfalls, resource requirement and constraints, governance aspects and institutional capacity. Punjab, with about 25 million inhabitants, is one of the richest states in India and has experienced rapid economic development in recent years. An important requirement for continued economic growth is the development of Punjab’s transport infrastructure and sector in order to remove existing bottlenecks and provide cost-effective transport in ways that cater to the needs of the state’s economy and citizens. Currently ECORYS conducts its operations in India from a project office in Delhi. To facilitate the bidding and execution of work in the future and the co-operation with Logion, we will launch ECORYS India in late 2009. For more information please contact: |
