Ecorys presents study at the conference “Regulating health professions in a European perspective”

Kimberley van den Bergen, consultant at Ecorys, was one of the key-speakers at the conference “Regulating health professions in a European perspective”, organised by the European Social Observatory in Brussels on 17 November 2017.

The conference placed the new Belgian legal framework on access to and pursuit of health professions within the broader European perspective. It looked in detail on how EU integration affects the organisation and regulation of health professions. In specific, the impact of professional mobility on national workforce planning policies and mechanisms to ensure quality and patient safety in a European and international context, were discussed.

At the conference, Ecorys presented the recently published study on potential obstacles in the provision of cross-border health services. Cross-border barriers and potential obstacles for GP’s and physiotherapists were highlighted. The study report can be accessed here. The Ecorys infographic summarising the main results of the study can be found here. More information about the conference and the presentation can be found here.
